This week I’m introducing you to a fellow Writer’s Chapter sister of mine - Lorelei Confer, a wonderful author, a woman of grace, romance and a talent for writing awesome books.
Lorelei lives on a peninsula in the mid west coast of Florida with her hero (hubby), 2 cats who love to pretend their CSI agents, and her long haired Chihuahua, AJ, who hates Christmas….no one knows why.
She started her writing career in the fourth grade in the form of a play which was produced by her teacher for parents and students. After her fast climb to success in the writing world, Lorelei continued her craft of writing and majored in English in College. Lorelei has several book written in several genre, below are two samples of her voice and style.
NO WHERE TO HIDE...MY HEART
Human Trafficking is a very lucrative profession. Women and children of all ages are abducted from their homes, the playground or neighbor-hood park, places of employment, even while shopping. But that only happens in third world countries, right?
Isabella Donnelly, a second grade teacher Cameron Lakes, Colorado finds out the hard way: a real life experience. She is befriended by someone at her local gym, goes to her house a 'girls night out, has pizza and drinks water. Drugged, she is transported across state lines within the United States. Her identity is stolen from her, she has no proof of who she is or where she came, and she is held captive for days.
Finally, making a successful escape, she literally runs into Wyatt Bowman, who has sharp blue nothing-gets-past-me eyes. He knows the law, has federal connections and is willing to help her once she convinces him she is telling him the truth and then only under his terms.
Together they pursue a safe place for her to hide until her kidnappers can be caught, except that they get 'caught up' in each others arms.
Reality soon sets in but not until she is hunted like an animal, a cop is murdered and she is forced to go under cover to get evidence against a gang boss.
Will Wyatt have enough strength to protect her without losing himself in her? Will he rescue her from her attackers early enough for her to implement the sting operation? Will he trust her soon enough and gain her trust in return?
A COUNTRY CHRISTMAS
Lisa and Jim Williams moved to the country to give their two boys the childhood Jim had been born and raised in--fresh air, hard work, and big rewards.
Two days before Christmas, Jim has to go to town to make a mortgage payment--they can't be late again--and leaves Lisa and boys with regrets but also certain he can make it back before Christmas and before the the area is hit with a huge snow storm.
Liza tries her best to keep the boys occupied while they wait patiently for Daddy’s return. They make homemade 'country' ornaments, cut out cookies, sing carols, and read Christmas stories. Anything to keep them occupied and their inquisitive minds off when their daddy would make it home. He has to be home for Christmas.
Jim has a hard time getting into town and back home due to snow-covered and closed roads.
Will he make it home? Will he make in back in time? Will he see 'their shining star?
